The Autism Spectrum Disorders and Neurodevelopmental Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital delivers acute care to children and adolescents ages 5 and older identified as having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or related Disability with co-morbid psychiatric conditions. This specialized Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital delivers care with a consistent and integrated approach that draws on the latest evidence-based practices. Our program is adapted to meet the unique learning styles, physical needs, and abilities of the ASD and Neuro-diverse population. Our treatment approach is family centered and designed to provide intensive research-based applied behavioral program addressing co-morbid psychopathology. The integrated care model includes a multi-disciplinary team consisting of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinicians, behavior therapists, occupational therapists, and/or speech.
Acute hospitalization promotes stabilization and provides an opportunity to re-assess the support needed to ensure the intermediate and long-term success of the patient and their family post-discharge. Our team of professionals truly values that every child has unique gifts and that each person’s potential must always be nurtured. It’s our mission to methodically teach, support and inspire them to maximize their fullest potential.

TREATMENT APPROACH
Foundations Behavioral Health individually tailors each child’s treatment experience and strategic interventions to precisely measure and track progress towards improved health and quality of life by considering behavioral functioning, social development, communication abilities, academic/vocational achievement and family support. Individualized treatment plans promote the development of skills related to social interaction, cognition, language, physical ability, emotional responses, self-direction, work, and play.
Each child has an interdisciplinary team of professionals guiding their treatment. The team includes a physician, psychiatrist, nurse, clinical director, board-certified behavior analyst, education director/principal, special education teachers, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, dietician, expressive therapists, specially trained behavior specialists and clinicians. These professionals work in collaboration and consultation with parents, caregivers and other key supports to improve each child’s abilities and assist them in overcoming their challenges so that they may live a more independent and fulfilling life.

Foundations Residential Program offers a complete array of specialized services and a safe, comfortable home environment designed to enrich the lives of children and young adults with autism. This unique program in collaboration with LifeWorks Academy utilizes proactive and support strategies to encourage life and social skill development for each child while enhancing their quality of life.
